Gravix is a new 100% precast retaining wall system that reduces excavation requirements (typically 30% less than conventional RSS walls). Select fill is not required which allows structural soil fill or various stone / recycled materials to be used as backfill. Temporary shoring is not needed and with the large block size (32 square feet / unit) time and labour costs are greatly reduced. Being 100% precast, steel or geosynthetic straps (geogrid) is not required eliminating materials that may corrode or break down over time. Precast concrete has been well documented and proven to be one of the best means of obtaining the longest design life of buried structures.
